Starter: Fresh Mixed Greens Salad
Ingredients:
- 2 cups mixed greens (spinach, arugula, romaine)
- ¼ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine mixed greens and cherry tomatoes.
- Drizzle with olive oil and apple cider vinegar.
- Season with salt and pepper, toss well, and serve.
Main Course: Western Beef Tartare
Ingredients:
- 200g fresh Western-style ground beef (preferably grass-fed)
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped pickles
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
- 1 small red onion, finely diced
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Tortilla chips or toasted bread slices
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix the beef, pickles, onion, BBQ sauce, and hot sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
- Shape into a mound on the plate, and place the egg yolk in a well in the center.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve with tortilla chips or toasted bread slices.
Dessert: Apple Cinnamon Crumble
Ingredients:
- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Toss the apples with cinnamon and sugar, then place them in a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix oats with butter, sprinkle over the apples.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Serve warm.
